Mother's Day is one week away and we all think about how much we really love and appreciate our mothers. For those of us who have lost our mothers, this day can be especially hard. I lost my mother November 2017 and this was one of the hardest times in my life. Losing a loved one is never an easy thing, but to lose your mother is especially painful, at least it was for me. We had a close relationship more towards the end of her life, and I cherish every moment spent with her. I make a special trip to see her at the cemetery on Mother's Day, and leave a small token of beauty in flowers or decorative solar garden lamp. I think about her everyday and I would give anything to have her back for just a few moments. If your mother is alive and well, be extra kind to her this Mother's Day. Make her feel like she is loved and respected and give her all the attention she deserves. Don't let her cook, spoil her with gifts, and if you really want to sweeten her night... come by Sugar City Cupcakes and pick up a Mother's Day dessert to satisfy her sweet tooth.
